In order for us to give you an estimate on the cost of changing your kitchen cabinets and countertops, you will need to provide measurements of your present layout.
Measuring is not difficult. You will need a tape measure, pencil, and a piece of paper (One hint: Always measure twice to ensure that correct measurements are recorded). Below is a photo showing the basic parts in a kitchen.

Step 1: Draw a sketch of your kitchen floor plan. (This does not have to be perfect, the objective is just to get the shape of your kitchen)
Step 2: Use your tape measure, measure the length and the width of your countertops. Record the measurements in inches. Don't forgot to measure any islands or bars you might have as well.
Step 3: Measure the ceiling height and write it in the center of your drawing. Sometimes, especially with older homes, it is a good idea to take measurements in a few different areas of the kitchen. Ceiling heights, even in the same room, can sometimes vary by as much as a few inches.
Step 4: Measure from the floor to the bottom of each window and also measure the overall window height.
